Hansel & Gretel
Re-imagining the script of Hansel & Gretel by Stuart Paterson the aim of this project was for the audience to experience an emotional connection through the characters personality and costumes, which I then made two of the designs into costumes that would be suitable for a three-part tv show. I wanted both costumes to be partially historically accurate to the late 15th century combined with a dark fantasy element, along with up close detailing appropriate for the camera, and as the theme was dark fantasy the aim was to make sure each costume had a dark colour palette. For the up-close detailing I wanted to make sure I had incorporated a variety of textile techniques and fabric textures that represented each of the characters environment within the show.
